Treasure Adventure World looks like a decent 2D action-adventure platformer on the surface, but it is actually a relatively average experience.

Right off the bat, as soon as I was in control of my character, I noticed just how unbelievably floaty the game’s controls are. Floaty to the point where I almost gave up right there. For a platforming game, floaty controls are an absolute no-no. Even so, I decided to give the game more of a chance and pushed onward.

However, by the time I got through the first island in the game, I was done with it. The floaty controls, combined with just how underwhelming the game was up to that point, really killed any hope I had for it. I looked into whether or not the floaty controls were a technical issue exclusive to me, but saw several other people mentioning the same thing. Even if the controls were bearable, I cannot see myself playing through the rest of the game due to just how boring my experience was.

I was provided a free review copy of the game. Read more about how I do my game reviews here.
