Angvik (First Impressions)

Angvik, a classic platformer that isn’t too great, but isn’t that bad either.

The game itself is composed of raw platforming, much like any classic platformer these days. The various classes offered is what makes the game so fun. There are plenty of different classes to choose from (even a peasant!), each with its own style of gameplay. I had a great deal of fun figuring out the various qualities of each and ended up sticking with the lancer as my preferred class.

The game does have some issues however, especially with its controls. I originally tried playing the game using an Xbox 360 controller, but the menus didn’t seem to cooperate with it. I tried fixing this with a reboot of the game and such, but ended up having to switch around a ton of controls on the controller for it to work (which was a pain because certain buttons did not want to be stuck with certain actions and would constantly reset while I was changing them).

The gameplay isn’t that bad, but it can get very boring, very quickly. I can’t say I recommend the game, but it does have its merits.
