Rogue-like at its finest, and even better if you play with friends.

Magicite, even in its early access stage, is a fantastic game. Being in early access, I’m excited to see what will become of the game, what will be added, etc. As it stands, the game is already very enjoyable, with no noticeable bugs (at least during my time with the game). The multiplayer is a bit wonky (the creating/joining of servers), but it works and the it’s a blast to play with friends.

My only complaint is the crafting system, which does not tell you how to make anything, but instead, encourages you to discover how everything is made. This is exactly how Terraria and Minecraft work though, so I can’t really complain too much about it. However, the crafting in Magicite is done in a weird way. You only need two items in order to craft something, and that is done from the inventory. I ended up mindlessly combining different items to see what would result. I got a few cool things out of that, at least.

I can definetely recommend Magicite, especially if you’re looking to play it with friends. Although difficult, Magicite is an excellently crafted rogue-like game (wait, aren’t all rogue-likes difficult?).
