Arcane Worlds is essentially a sandbox. A fun one at that. The game consists of terrain alteration, nothing else.
Well, in this state, you really have no idea how this game will end up, considering it is still in early access. There aren’t many features offered currently, which is a bit disappointing, but it is in early access after all. The game even offers you cheats via the pause menu. I enabled these after spending some time playing around with the base game. The cheats make Arcane Worlds a lot more fun. Sure, there’s going to be some legit ways to unlock all of the spells offered, but it sure is fun to spam volcanoes all over the world.
I for one, spent all of my time screwing up the world beyond repair. I had volcanoes reach the clouds, then put waterfalls on the sides of them. I made a very, very deep pit that slowly filled with lava as I placed volcanoes around it. The whole world was a scorched, lava-filled mess by the time I was done with it. I should mention that there are entities in the game such as birds and these giant, smiling bears that serve no purpose, but as it stands, they don’t really do much in terms of gameplay.
If you’re looking for some quick fun, with no real goal in mind, then check out Arcane Worlds.
